Ethereum smart contract advisor & developer
Bok develops and audits Ethereum smart contracts for his clients which have included over 30 blockchain projects listed in the next section 16 on Partners. He develops and maintains https://cryptoderivatives.market/ , an open source, decentralised Ether exchange and smart contract market. He is committed to promoting decentralized, trustless exchanges on the Ethereum blockchain. Bok is also known as BokkyPooBah on Ethereum, StackExchange and r/Ethereum. Bok is prominent in the Ethereum community in Sydney, contributing free weekly seminars for engineers and inventors and entrepreneurs.
Prior to Ethereum Bok spent over 28 years working as an
actuary and quantitative software developer and worked with banking and corporate treasury clients, investment managers, exchanges, government agencies and financial soft vendors throughout APAC and Europe.
Ian has worked in the energy industry since 2003 initially with Total Gas & Power in a range of roles including manage strategic accounts, setting up UK broker channel and driving software innovationon the IT steering committee.
Ian then moved to a leading energy consultancy initially as the Sales & Marketing Director, tasked with growing the business domestically. Having achieved year on year growth, Ian was then subsequently tasked with developing the international footprint of the business to provide energy cost management support on a global basis.
Ian joined Beond to help develop and coordinate the consultancy functions to help facilitate future growth and to ensure consistently high service delivery to our clients. Ian also runs the West London Zero Carbon Energy Project which was a step in the thought process which lead to The Zero Carbon Project idea.
As a Director of Beond, Sarah focuses on the people strategy and talent management. Sarah has a broad range of experience as a business leader advising and implementing HR strategy and change, organisational development and talent management. Sarah previously worked with Sky as Director of Talent Management and as an HR Consultant in banking and financial services. She has a Masters in Human Resources from the London School of Economics and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Europe Director & MD of Beond
Alastair has worked in the energy industry for over 18 years. He initially worked for Southern Electric as Senior Gas Controller where he was responsible for balancing the retail gas portfolio. He then moved on to spend time with two US utilities, Aquila Energy and Duke Energy. At both these companies he traded wholesale electricity and gas in both the UK and western European markets. Alastair was responsible for setting up the European electricity trading desk for Duke Energy.
After gaining experience in the wholesale sector, Alastair moved to the retail sector where he spent over 8 years at Utilyx. He was responsible for creating and managing the risk management desk and was responsible for managing energy portfolios on behalf of large industrial and corporate clients, with over £2 billion energy spend under management.
Software Manager & Developer
Phil is Beond’s IT Manager and has spent the last eight years driving the development of Beond’s unique energy procurement software. His passion is software development and new technologies. He is respected in the open source community for his contributions. Prior to Beond Phil worked as a programmer on large banking software infrastructure and security projects.
Rob is an experienced corporate finance executive, and has held executive, entrepreneurial and advisory roles in the technology sector. He brings with him a deep knowledge of financing tech start-ups and he has advised on numerous equity capital raisings. He has relevant experience in digital banking, digital media, e-commerce and transaction marketplace businesses.
Zero Carbon Markets Director
Thomas started his career in 1994 with Deutsche Bank, Germany, initially with Private Wealth Management and then Investment Banking. In 2000 he joined Enron Europe’s physical gas business and then moved to trading European power markets. He then worked in similar trading and sales roles for Aquila, BHP Billiton and BNP Paribas before joining Constellation Global Commodities as Head of Origination for Continental Europe. In 2009 Thomas relocated to Sydney, Australia, taking on the role of Global Head of Business Development for d-cyphaTrade (now ASX Energy).
In 2013 Thomas joined the European Energy Exchange AG where he initially ran their London office as Head of Sales – Clearing & ISV, Coal & Freight. In 2017 he was appointed Head of Sales EEX Group – Global Commodities; Member of the Executive Management Team of Cleartrade Exchange in Singapore; to lead EEX Group’s Global Commodities portfolio and leading the group’s expansion in Asia from Singapore.
Most recently, Thomas also joined the Zero Carbon Project taking on responsibility for developing and launching the global green electricity marketplace.
Derek started his career with Macquarie Bank where he was involved in designing derivative products; and trading options and futures in bonds, bullion and the energy markets. After completing his MBA, he joined Accenture as a Strategy Consultant in financial services and energy markets.
In 1999 Derek established iVentures Capital to take advantage of software technology and innovation opportunities in the energy markets.
Derek raised funds to establish PowerEx an online power exchange for energy suppliers, generators and suppliers which he sold to Amsterdam Power Exchange to facilitate their entry into the UK energy markets.
Derek acquired Beond in 2003 and has since worked on developing its services, servicing its clients and building its team. He is the Chairman of West London Sustainability and Climate Change Commission.
